If you're a veteran reader of Meg Says you'll know that I'm a big fan of the beauty box company Latest In Beauty and in particular, their collaborations with the Beauty Director at GLAMOUR, Alessandra Steinherr. After being a big fan of Alex's work for years it was a pleasure to meet her recently and I wholeheartedly think that her opinion is one of the most trustworthy, and her recommendations the most reputable in the industry today. It comes as no surprise then, that I adore everything that came in her most recent teamwork with LIB - The GLAMOUR Beauty Power List Edit*. Every year GLAMOUR brings out their Beauty Power List, and Alex has hand-selected eight of the best products that range from "cult favourites" to "must-try newbies"... so it was always going to be good, wasn't it?
First up we've got the
Garnier Miracle Sleeping Cream - you might've heard me raving about this in my recent
November Favourites - which has the ability to deeply hydrate your skin, smoothing and firming as you snooze. I wake up with significantly softer skin that feels plumper, without that tacky feeling you get with some thicker moisturisers. Another overnight product is the
Vita Liberata Self Tanning Night Moisture Mask, I've tried this a few times now and am so impressed with the results - I'm naturally very fair and always think I look better when I've got a bit more warmth to my complexion but always have issues with tanning my face. A lot of formulas don't give my skin the moisture it needs, whereas with this I've found that it hydrates my skin perfectly well and gives a gorgeously natural hint of colour. Whilst I still think I prefer my
St Tropez Everyday Gradual Tan, I've loved having the chance to try this version with the option of purchasing the full-size.
As for makeup I practically squealed when I saw the
Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick as I got the shade 'Rose', a soft petal pink, which let's face it is very me! Not only do these glide on beautifully smoothly, they smell
heavenly - like sweet vanilla icing sugar, so good! - and I'm a big fan of the packaging, also. Then we have the
Eyeko Black Magic Mascara, designed to create "drama, volume and curl", and I can confirm that it delivers on all three counts. I've only ever tried one other product from
KIKO (an eyeshadow stick that came in
The GLAMOUR Spring Beauty Edit, go figure) so I was happy to see the inclusion of their
Velvet Touch Creamy Stick Blush. I got the shade 'Hot Pink', which as you'd expect delivers a Barbie-esque flush of colour to warm up your complexion in the prettiest possible way - for me it's more of a spring/summer shade so I'll be tucking this away until the warm months, but from what I've
tried swatched the formulation does feel very smooth.
Moving onto nails we come to a product that I think the entire box is buying for singularly -
yep, really - the
Nails Inc Superfood NailKale Base Coat. Now, if we can get past the gimmicky name, the product itself is brilliant and I haven't touched any of my other base coats since I discovered it, and it can also be used as a treatment to strengthen and nourish. My favourite brand for nail polishes is
Rimmel and you get one of their
60 Seconds Super Shine Nail Polishes which I've raved about in the past (especially the shades 'Ethereal' and 'Euphoria',
see here!), so I was more than pleased to add 'Lose Your Lingerie' -
ooh-err! - to my collection.
The final product comes in the form of one of my most-loved haircare products with the added bonuses of a gorgeous floral scent and hot pink packaging - what's not to love? The
Philip Kingsley Elasticizer is a pre-shampoo treatment that deeply conditions to add manageability, bounce and shine, whilst leaving you hair wonderfully soft and silky. I've never tried the Geranium & Neroli version but I can't wait to!
Originally priced at £18.99 but now on sale with 20% off for £14.99, I'd highly recommend picking up one of
The GLAMOUR Beauty Power List 2015 boxes whilst they're still in stock - as mentioned, LIB really do cover all of their bases and you get a heck of a lot of bang for your buck. Last time I checked there was a free mystery gift also,
ooooh!
