Our Day at Ascot with Appletiser & GLAMOUR Magazine

Last Saturday my older brother and I attended King George Day - here - at Ascot Racecourse courtesy of Appletiser - the official soft drink of Ascot - and GLAMOUR magazine, and it was such a wonderful day that I couldn't wait to share it with you all!

We vlogged our entire weekend and it's one of my favourite videos, so if you'd like to join us you can find the video on my YouTube channel here.

Our tickets were for the Winner's Enclosure which was absolutely stunning - it was our first time at Ascot and you expect it to be grand, but it really is another level of class and sophistication. Everything is immaculate from top to tail - you'd find it difficult not to be wowed by the decadence of it all - and we began enjoying our day from the second we stepped through the gates.

One of my favourite parts of Ascot, as I'm sure a lot of people also find, is the 'dressing up' aspect. As someone who loves donning a nice dress and a good pair of heels, there was plenty for me to appreciate and I spent a large proportion of the day complimenting others on their outfits! It's a lovely chance to sport something special and be surrounded by others who've also made an effort by strutting their stuff in suits and fascinators, which really adds to the experience of it all. I was originally after this dress from ASOS, but they didn't have my size and instead I chose a pale blue pencil dress with a floral print that I ended up absolutely loving. It felt very 'Ascot appropriate' and I loved the look of it, especially when paired with a matching pashmina, white heeled sandals, an embellished silver clutch and my new cooler, ashier blonde hair.

Bag: my mum's
Pashmina: my auntie's!

After making a detour to get my hair done (you might've noticed that it looks different in these photos, I'll show you properly in a video soon!) we started our road trip to the Stirrups Country House Hotel, which was lovely. The staff were all very helpful and we had a really comfortable stay in our room plus a tasty full English on the morning of Ascot that set us up for the day perfectly. On our way to the hotel on Friday night we passed a restaurant called Cinnamon Tree, and as we hadn't eaten on the road we decided to drop our bags in our room then head back for a meal which we really enjoyed - Indian cuisine is one of our favourites and was a welcome treat after the long drive!

I loved my makeup on the day and can do a 'Get Ready With Me'-style video if anyone would like to see how I did it and which products I used? Let me know!

If you're thinking of going to Ascot we'd highly recommend it, the whole day is enjoyable from start to finish - even if you don't win a penny! - and it's a really special outing whether you go as a pair, like my brother and I did, or as a group. We'd like to say a special thank you to Appletiser and GLAMOUR magazine for taking us, as we thoroughly loved the experience and were so happy and grateful to spend some quality sibling time together.
